History and community legacy
A place built around community
Norma Reichard purchased the former Andrew’s Lumber Company property in 1987. Gene and Norma Reichard developed it as a community park, with the name honoring their family’s Gumtown Company Store.
A memorial dedicated in 2005 recognizes their contributions. The Borough purchased the park from the Reichard family in 2024, continuing its role as a gathering place for the Redbank Valley.

A little planning goes a long way
How do I reserve a facility?
Check the reservation calendar, then use the Reserve Gumtown Park page. The Borough manages requests and requires the appropriate rental agreement and liability waiver. Submitting a request is not confirmation of a reservation.
Can I request the stage separately?
The reservation page says the entertainment stage can be requested separately. Describe the facilities, date, times and type of event you need, and confirm the arrangements with the Borough.
Are there reservation fees?
The Borough office can confirm any current fees, conditions and availability. Please check before making plans.
Does an empty date mean my event is booked?
No. The calendar is a planning aid. A date without a listed reservation is not approval; the Borough must confirm your request.
Are the planned playground and splash pad open?
These projects appear in the Borough’s published improvement plans. Please ask the Borough for the current status rather than assuming they are open.
